This post focuses on customizable Know Sure Thing (KST) factory scans, which can be edited, modified, or rewritten and then scanned using ChartAlert’s native stock screener or technical analysis scanner, namely the Basic Scanner and Advanced Scanner.

Add Column KST
Add Column KSTSig
Apply to NSE
This scan computes to determine the KST (Know Sure Thing) and KST Signal Line values for all symbols listed on the NSE (National Stock Exchange). By default, specific parameters are utilized, namely 9, 10, 10, 15, 10, 20, 10, 30, and 15, which correspond to SignalLineSMA, ROC1, SMA1, ROC2, SMA2, ROC3, SMA3, ROC4, and SMA4, respectively.
OPTION 1
If desired, the KST and KST Signal Line can be customized to individual preferences. An alternative option is to use KSTSig(12), which computes a 12-period Simple Moving Average (SMA) of the KST, using the default parameters mentioned previously.

Add Column KST(10, 15, 15, 15, 20, 15, 30, 15) as KST
Add Column KSTSig(12, 10, 15, 15, 15, 20, 15, 30, 15) as KSTSig

And KST has crossed above KSTSig
Add Column KST
Add Column KSTSig
Apply to NSE
This scan identifies symbols that display a specific pattern: a negative value for KST that has recently crossed above the KST Signal Line. The scan uses default parameters, which are as follows: 9, 10, 10, 15, 10, 20, 10, 30, 15 for SignalLineSMA, ROC1, SMA1, ROC2, SMA2, ROC3, SMA3, ROC4, SMA4 respectively. These values determine the calculations used in the scan to identify the desired pattern.

List symbols where KST > 0
And KST has crossed below KSTSig
Add Column KST
Add Column KSTSig
Apply to NSE
This scan identifies symbols that exhibit a positive KST value but have recently dipped below the KST Signal Line. The default parameters, specifically SignalLineSMA (Simple Moving Average of Signal Line), ROC1 (Rate of Change 1), SMA1 (Simple Moving Average 1), ROC2 (Rate of Change 2), SMA2 (Simple Moving Average 2), ROC3 (Rate of Change 3), SMA3 (Simple Moving Average 3), ROC4 (Rate of Change 4), and SMA4 (Simple Moving Average 4) are used in this particular scan. These values are set at 9, 10, 10, 15, 10, 20, 10, 30, and 15, respectively.
