Relative Performance Charts

This feature also allows for the comparison of the Relative Performance of symbols classified either by an Index or a Sector.

QuickBrowse; Highs & Lows (2 features)

CHART OVERLAY

The QuickBrowse feature allows an end-user to quickly browse through all available indicators in ChartAlert for a particular symbol by simply using the up and down arrows on the keyboard.

The Highs & Lows feature, with 1-click/toggle, allows an end-user to plot 52-Week Highs and Lows and All-time Highs and Lows on the chart.

Templates or Chart Layouts

AutoScroll Groups of Charts

This feature allows an end-user to auto-scroll through a WatchList or any group of charts hands-free.

Open Multiple Instances of the Same Chart/ Symbol

Open multiple instances of the same chart for a variety of ways of analyzing that same chart.

The following is possible . . .

  • Create and view (simultaneously) the same symbol – say, ACC – with different templates — say, Moving Averages, Technical Analysis Studies, etc — plotted on multiple instances of the same symbol
  • Tile multiple charts of the same symbol vertically or horizontally for analysis
  • Synchronize x-axis of multiple charts for left-and-right scrolling
  • Save multiple charts to a single Workspace

Synchronize X-axis of Multiple Charts

This feature allows you to analyze multiple instances of the same chart, or several charts that are simultaneously open, by sync’ing their X-axis.

  • Synchronize the x-axis – time-scale – of multiple charts to enable synchronized left-and-right scrolling of the chart

Invert Y-axis of a Chart

To stimulate a contra view, the following features are available in ChartAlert . . .

  • Invert the y-axis – price-scale – of a chart
  • Invert the Price Plot, Indicators, their colors and styles
  • Invert scale without inverting the color of the Price Plot

Daily Data Collection and Updation

STANDARD TOOLBAR   USER INTERFACE

The daily Data Collection and Updation process – both WebUpdate and Manual Update – central to keeping the data updated on your computer, can be initiated from the Standard Toolbar.

The WebUpdate feature downloads end-of-day data from our data servers after market trading hours, usually after 6PM (IST), and the downloaded data is stored locally on your computer’s hard drive.

In the ManualUpdate options, the end-user manually downloads the end-of-day data from our website using a personal web browser and updates the software with the downloaded data.

The File >> Open dialog – in the Standard Toolbar – allows you to search for a symbol or open a chart.

A lot of features can be customized in ChartAlert. . . the Global Preferences dialog – available via the Standard Toolbar – facilitates customization as per needs.

If you ever run into a technical snag, which is usually rare, then the Data Testing & Maintenance feature comes in handy to help pinpoint the snag and solve it.

The Data Testing & Maintenance dialog can be used to do the following . . .

  • Test data files for compatibility and error conditions
  • Remove old files/reports no longer needed by ChartAlert or the end-user
  • If you run into a data-related snag, email us the test log file (with an explanation of the problem you’re facing) to diagnose and offer a solution
